A totally wasted film...SPOILERS

Just saw this.

Think it was totally a waste of a good concept. The film had a decent atmosphere, what with the drive through the woods, the log cabin in the middle of nowhere, and of course, the mine...but it was totally wasted.

The whole 'Rose' character, who was psychic or had premonitions or whatever was totally pointless and contributed SQUAT to the plot. Michaels' nightmare/flashforward sequences could have made for some interesting foreshadowing but was placed in a totally ham-handed manner. The entire first half of the film had a serious pacing problem with virtually no worthwhile exposition...it seemed more like a film a bunch of college kids made about their camping trip. And once the plot kicks into gear, it isn't long before the film quickly and competently explains the loop...and that's it. There's a twist randomly thrown in right at the end...and that's that.

This would have worked WAY better as a 20-30 minute short film. As it stands, it took the material for a short film and padded it up in the most nonsensical manner.
