Cycles

It is my contention that time loop movies are only possible with characters that have a certain level of stupidity. Time Crimes included. They had enough information to make different decisions yet didn't

This movie would have been far more effective if we saw things like layers of notes for each attempt. Or wouldn't there be multiples of bodies from each cycle? I could have dealt with the premise but it didn't add up.

You're exactly right, there should have been multiple everything. Or, if there was only one of everything (people, van, RV, etc.) there should have been a distinct point in time when the loop started over and all the duplicates disappeared. They just fumbled the ball on this.

Yeah that's one thing that didn't work. Do the bodies and objects vanish when the loop 'resets'? If so, at what point? Also why don't the characters have any knowledge of past things? For example, the note left in the house. They leave a note at the end, yet don't they remember when they first came in there was a note, that same note? Why leave the note if you know this is what sets all these events into place? And also the bridge, when the guy runs over and falls, didn't he remember there was a hole in the bridge when they first came in? How could he forget? At what point did the bridge reset?

I think the "reset point" is when Michael is about to be locked up in the chamber and the Aurora appears for the 2nd time - there's no "This is the first time" and "Break the cycle" writings on walls anymore and the bridge is unbroken after that scene. I just don't know what happens to one of Claire's copies after the loop resets since there would be many of them. I suppose one Claire kills the other one at some point, hides her and her dead body dissapears when the loop resets (she even holds some knife when those two boys find her).

Ok from what I understand when they arrive at the beginning this is only the second cycle. Remember the writing that said this is the first time? There were only two of every character. When we see The two Michaels one is from the first cycle and the other Michael is from the new cycle. The first Michael is convincing him to of went back to the van and get his meds to destroy them. The only reason we do not see any of the bodies the first trip that we see to the mine is because on there first trip to the mine they probably didn't venture far enough in to have found the bodies and Claire. The note was wrote by different people than the ones that originally read it so they had no clue what it said. Yes, they should have been smarter, but they weren't. The only thing I did not understand is if the van breaks crashes at a certain point why was there not already a crashed van there? If it disappeared why would the bodies not have also disappeared? Or was any of it even real? Michael was off his meds maybe he made up everything in his mind and killed everyone. His paranoia and duplicate time lines could just have been his way of justifying turning on and killing his friends.
