I don't know if I would consider that a goof. Danny was pretty hacked off at that cop so he probably stormed off in a rage and left it. The cop might have brought it back later, but that would be a boring detail. The pot that our hero takes is a different matter. It simply vanished.

I dunno - in an earlier scene, the guy can barely scrape together $12.59 to buy cheap tequila, and we already know he makes less than $500 a month selling hotdogs... The way I saw that scene, he rips of a bag of dope from the dealer, then next scene he's struttin' with $100 worth of groceries - more important to him than reefer

Don't forget it's based on a true story. Lyanna Washington who filmed Epic Beard Man on the bus took his grocery bag and never returned it to him. So now you see it was inspired by real events.
