The phone call 'Spoilers'

The second time Oldman hid behind the statue Claire was having a phone call in which she said: "I hired Oldman to do everything....No he is no that old...No I don't think he is in love with me". Who was she talking to? It can't be Billy or Robert because it doesn't make sense. Why would she say "He is not that old"? We can conclude that they made quite a big research on him therefore Claire and the rest are quite familiar with his age and look. So what was that all about?

reply

That is a puzzle, unless she knew he was there all along.

reply

That's a good point, because then she "conveniently" hurts her foot and next sits in a position right in his view sight as she exposes herself - all the better to entice him further.

reply

IMO she knew that he was there and faked the phone call just like she faked the cut foot eg. Did anyone notice any blood?
With the view that Virgil got how could he resist?

reply

Yep, when he dropped his phone I was thinking dang, no wonder he dropped his phone!!

reply

I think she knew he was there, because Robert had planted the thought in Oldman, that he should hide there in the scene before.

We learned more from a three minute record than we ever learned in school

And in that conversation, "Claire" also says she doesn't think she's in love with Virgil. I thought it odd that he didn't seem to react to hearing that, at the time.

reply

No, I just watched it, she doesn't comment on her own feelings.
