Movies similar to The Raid released after 2006 ?????

In terms of both martial arts and gunfights, I have thought of some such as Yip Man in terms of martial arts or movies like Taken, Man on Fire and Harry Brown or even Kick-Ass, Cell 211 and the Bourne Ultimatum but I can't think of anything truly similar...

The Raid 2

Why 2006? Such an odd distinction without clarification.

If 2003 is still okay- check out Ong Bak.

And Tony Jaa's follow up The Protector (2005). Tarantino put his name on it for the US release (like he did with Hero(2002) also worth watching), and rumor has it he helped direct this scene:

while doing Kill Bill. It's a one take shot of Jaa fighting his way up floor by floor. It's sort of a sister scene to the one take shot in KB vol.1 during the House of Blue Leaves section. The scene used here I think is the 4th take so he's obviously already tired while filming it, but there was a lot they had to get right for a usable take.

Seriously, give Ong Bak a watch. It's a great MA film if nothing less.

Thank you very much. About the date it's just that a friend asked me about any similar movies but recent ones so i put this date so as not to be given any older movies... Other than that i have no problem checking out any movie released earlier.

Not sure if there are any movies out there with this much action from start to finish in recent memory. However, there are plenty of good martial arts movies over that time.

The Man From Nowhere - 2010 (South Korea) - one of my favorite movies
Flash Point (Donnie Yen) - 2007 (Hong Kong)
Commitment - 2013 (South Korea)
Firestorm - 2013 (Hong Kong)
District 13 (and sequel) - 2004 (France) if you like parkour with your martial arts
Unleashed (aka Danny the Dog) - 2005 (US)
Blood & Bone - 2009 (US) - good fight movie with Michael Jai White
Black Dynamite - 2009 (US) - Michael Jai White in funny Blaxploitation spoof
Any Jason Statham movie - if you like one, you like them all :)

I agree. It's obviously used Diehard as a template and then constructed this unique martial arts extravaganza around that. Pity the sequel wasn't any where near as good.🐭
