Are they really....


Zombies? It looked to me that it was more gangrenous or maybe some form of mutated leprosy. Just wondering since no head shots were needed to stop them and they still had vital signs according to the doc in the beginning.

I think you are caught up in the Romero style zombie mythology. Besides it was almost assuredly the marketing department that decided it had to have the word zombie attached to it. Zombie myths existed long before Romero , in fact I do not even think he called them zombies originally.

The kid mentioned in quarantine that the infected were eatingveach other.

And the infected start smelling people like food.

Zombies.

Could be almost a spin off from 28 days later..not Zombies but eventually consumed with a rage virus.

The disease, as it progressed made the victims start acting zombie-like. And one character did say a gun could be used to kill them, which means a head shot.
