Angry with Wade (spoilers)

Was anybody else furious with the character of Wade for not taking care of his daughter even though he promised her, forcing Maggie to commit suicide. The character had no balls. His daughter was more of a man than him. As soon as she killed the fox, he should have taken care of business. I feel like Arnold was trying to portray a character that so loved his daughter he couldn't kill her, but I felt that him not helping her die was such a selfish thing I hate Wade.

If Catholicism is correct, he forced her to commit a mortal sin, causing her to damn her soul to hell (although I have heard that some suicides aren't mortal sins).

They had that talk where he talked about how her Mother was so strong and Maggie reminded him of her. He did keep her too long. I figured at the end he knew what had to be done and was about to, but she beat him to it. No good choice.

I suppose as someone looking in, yes, he was irresponsible, but as a Mom, no, I can't blame him at all.

It's easy to say that as someone watching a movie but as a parent with two teenage daughters myself I would find it very hard to actually do it.
Also, in Wade's case she was the last connection to his first wife and I don't think he wanted to let that go yet either.

It was a running theme throughout the whole film that parents who didn't send their kids to quarantine simply weren't able to bring themselves to kill their kids. Maggie saw what happened to her boyfriend, forcefully taken to quarantine, and saw what happened to the neighbors family when they, too, skipped on quarantine.

Maggie didn't want her father to be forced to make that choice (both options were horrific), so she made it for him.
