Great storyline, had potential. Boring movie.

I think the storyline of this movie was very clever and had great potential, unfortunately for me I just felt that the movie was incredibly slow, dull and mediocre.. Which I thought was a shame as it had a great cast too. I couldn't get into the movie at all, it was all one tone (if I make sense) and overall rather boring.

I do think this was some of Arnold's best acting though.

Personally, I loved a slow burn movie about zombies.
I liked that it looked at what this does to this family, emotionally more than physically.

Agreed.

An interesting premise and thought provoking but ultimately a little dull and plodding.

Might have made for a good novella.

A movie having a slower pace, and adding detail help viewers care more about the characters. Try watching again and putting yourself in the characters place. Then see if you enjoy it more.

You are correct but it doesn't make it any less boring. I cared very much for Arnold and the girl. I listen to Audio Books over the course of weeks (during my commute) so I have a great attention span. Boring doesn't have to mean bad.

It could have benefited from some added scenes of other infecteds elsewhere who had progressed to full term zombies and were wreaking havoc and attacking their families or other people. Or maybe a scene where she came upon other zombies who recognized her as one of them and left her alone. Otherwise the story was good. But yeah zombie movies don't always lend themselves to this kind of sentimentalism where it totally replaces the horror. It only got a theatrical release because Arnold was involved. Would have worked better as a tv movie.
