Overall, season 3 is definitely the weakest one so far:

From the filler episodes in April's farmhouse that went on way too long, to the very rushed finale (Splinter dying and Earth disappearing "is awesome"???), it really wasn't as well-thought-out as the first two seasons. It didn't seem like there were any major developments between the main characters, and is it just me or was there not even a single Raph-centric episode at all?

Still hoping that they can improve on the next season. Get back to creating those moments that we love about the characters. Remember when the turtles were forced to switch weapons? Or when Donnie & Mikey had a feud w/ Leo & Raph? And how about actually developing the whole Donnie-April-Casey situation? Perhaps reignite the Leo vs Raph rivalry to new heights? Also, they need to put a stop to the Mikey-screws-up episodes. It's gotten really tired at this point.

Bebop and Rocksteady were the best thing to happen on season 3.

Basically... and that's pretty damn sad. This season really, really sucked a fat one by the end.

Hmm... Dinosaurs In The Sewers was pretty Raph-centric. But anyway, I think season three was the best thus far. Even if the farmhouse arc was nothing but filler as least it was entertaining filler. Maybe if the farmhouse arc was more like the farmhouse arc in the IDW comics people would have liked it more.

I sort of fell behind by the time season 3 started. I didn't bother watching the April's farmhouse ark.

Appreciating it for what it is, I've fount myself loving this season. Starts off a horror show, then a post-apocalyptic show, soon there is time travel, before long a giant mech battle with monster, end it all with dinosaurs destroying earth. pretty awesome.

Which is why I think it has forgotten all about the TMNT themselves. It's trying to be too many different things in a single season. Most people tune in for the characters, not what other shows can bring us.

Certainly. Despite my enjoyment for the season, it was lacking in good or lasting character moments/progression. First part of 2nd season I liked how they handled the introduction of Casey while continuing the Donnie/April arch, with April breaking off from the turtles for a while. Karai's story also helped maintained an amusing interest as the start of the season began developing. Whereas the start of 3rd season.... you've got unsupervised teenagers living together, wounded ninjas on set of rebound, sons that may of lost their father, lots of potential to explore that the people working on this show chose to do very little with.

I do hope the 4th season can better itself in characters, but if not I will try to at least see the good in it. Opening of 3rd season may of concentrated more on gimmick than character, but hey, when a fridge is thrown out the window you know it's a good time.

Season 4 is currently starting out much stronger than 3 did, at least. They even tried correcting that awkward "This is awesome!" finale by starting out the first episode on a really sad note. And the characters already have an objective instead of just waiting in the farmhouse.
