Has the Muckman action figure been cancelled?

Says here it has: http://turtlepedia.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_action_figures_(2012-present)

That's a shame, I definitely wanted that!

As a collector, what are some TMNT figures in this new line that you like a lot, which ones do you recommend just for their looks? I haven't bought any since the old show and want to get some for my collection. Are there any rare ones?

You know, it's not a great collection. The scale of the figures is inaccurate. Most of the large characters are the same height as the standard size ones. The articulation is limited and the paint is not detailed. I feel as though eventually there will be a great line based on this series but this isn't it. Still I've collected most because there are many good characters.

There doesn't seem to be anything in the way of rarities or variants at all. Everything seems to be available. I buy from the shelf and there may be some difficulty at first but sure enough every figure comes around. Even ones from the first series that were a little difficult are now being released.

Really good figures? Not many really. But because the characters are interesting their figure form is desirable for me. I have only opened a couple of them and they're ok in the hand. The foot soldier is one I've opened and its not bad, but I think there are better foot soldier figures from earlier collections.

That's disappointing. I'm just going to buy a loose lot of them on ebay for cheap and see if any are worth getting MOC. Seems like the turtles haven't had a good line since the originals. I loved how the cards were unique for every figure. Even the classic comic line put out later wasn't that great. The dark horse miniatures put out out in the old comic days for the RPG were great and have amazing detail but of course are so tiny!

I agree with Vulture. I love the current line. I've never bought one and thought it felt cheaply made.

I'd disagree, I think the new line of figures are great. They dont always have the most detailed paint jobs and some of the figures don't scale to well with others (Slash, Leatherhead etc) but the sculpts are pretty top notch and the majority of them have excellent articulation and posability. If you're planning on taking them out of the packaging and are willing to do a bit of customising they're great value for money. As long as you don't forget they weren't designed for adult collectors and are primarily intended for kids to play with. I'd recommend the Battle Shell Turtles over their original releases for cartoon accurate representations. The Shredder with the removable helmet is also much better than the initial release.

I prefer the vintage 1980's/90's figures myself, infact I've just started collecting the original set of Metal Mutants figures with my first one being Shredder. These are the figures from one of two Japanese anime cartoons that never aired here in the U.S. but we got the toys anyway (the other being Super Turtles). The Metal Mutants figures come with removable armor that reassembles ("mutates") into different robotic animals. They are as follows:

Metal Mutant Leo with the Dragon Spirit
Metal Mutant Mikey with the Beetle Spirit
Metal Mutant Donnie with the Lion Spirit (it seems to be more like a Chimera but young children may not know what that is so I'm guessing that Playmates decided to go with "Lion Spirit" instead)
Metal Mutant Raph with the Phoenix Spirit
Metal Mutant Shredder with the Tiger Spirit

There is also a motorcycle that goes with the set, the Metal Mutant Cycle. I like the figures because they look really cool, sort of Heavy Metal like (so to speak), heck, Shredder looks like a member of KISS in his full armor, and I wouldn't have minded adding them to my collection back in the day. They are hard to find now, especially still MOC so they are expensive but if you are as hard core as I am then, by all means, go for it.

*Hint* Try amazon.com for a fair shot at getting some of them. They don't always come up so when one does grab it while you can.
