New to this version of the Turtles

Hi, wondered if anyone could give me their opinion. I just started the show, watched the first two episodes, and feeling a little meh about it. Hated the Krang and that weird monster at the end of the second episode. Does the show get better?

It gets better as the show goes on.

07/08/06... 786... the sentinel of Allah has arrived.

Don't bother with it. The rest of the first season is forgettable despite some occasional signs of promise. Then Season Two comes in and it gets even worse: a brand new crew handles the show from then onward and *beep* up everything. Characters become one-joker parodies of themselves (Mikey turns from a goofball to an outright idiot, Donatello's April, April becomes much more of a bitch, and also it turns out she's also a Krang in an outright idiotic twist), the humor becomes a lot cruder, and the pacing becomes an outright mess with plot points often getting forgotten about for nearly half a season and several episodes focusing on monster-of-the-week just for filler.

That's exaggerating *slightly*... but yeah, the first season felt like the most cohesive to me.

The rest isn't too bad at all - certainly better than the '87 incarnation of the turtles, worse in many ways than the '03 incarnation. There are some genuinely good dramatic moments, but it's inconsistent.

Well... I fount it to get better.

New Girl in town is where I feel the first season really picks up, as it adds an interesting dynamic that hasn't been incorporated with past series.

Season 2, have some difficulty in seeing how people can hate it. I felt they consistantly made great use of the characters and stories throughout.

As of mid season 4, still enjoying it. Despite a couple of noticeable flaws that have crept up as the series has gone on.

I'd say, try watching all of season 1. If still not
interested by season 1 finale, then may consider giving up

It gets better.

The first few episodes are kind of...preachy...and the tone is a little off. The first part of Season 1 is setup, and Season 1 overall is more self-contained.

Personally, I'd recommend starting with The Gauntlet as that is where it starts turning around (even though it has some early flaws).
