Two Scene Questions, beginning and near end. (Slight SPOILERS - maybe)

1. What's that swordfight about in the beginning? Isn't it inside the Mayor's mansion? Doesn't someone get killed? But Riddler's just watching from a distance and breathing loud, right?

2. Near the end, when we're supposed to think the fight's over, a guy grabs Catty from behind and is taking his time "going to" stab her. Batty does some groaning and heavy breathing, I think injects himself with something and starts to beat the guy to a pulp. LT Gordon stops him and unmasks the beating victim, who laughs. I swear it looks like the Riddler, but couldn't be, so who is it? Does it matter? If not, why show us his face?

I agree with the other questions and plot holes listed elsewhere. I was never a fan until The Dark Knight, and then only because of Ledger's Joker. I waited a year to see it because hype is a contra-indication to me. Now, Batty is back off my view list again. Paul Dano was wasted in this piece of junk.

1. That was the Mayor's son, playfighting in costume. No one is killed. Mayor pretends to be killed as part of the pretend fight.

2. The beating victim was the suspicious guy who shared a few words with Bruce Wayne at the Mayor's funeral, not realizing he was talked to one of the rich men of gotham that he was ranting about. That moment is poignant because it finally clicks for Batman that he's been inspiring the wrong type of people with his actions in Gotham.

I'd take another look at the alleged "plot holes" if these were your first two questions lol. These are straightforward plot stuff.
