The Grungeman
I was not impressed with this movie. Not because it was trying to achieve a grunge aesthetic, but because it only half committed to it
The bat cave should have been pitch dark except for the light of computer monitors. Wires and cables should have been duct taped to the walls and ground
The Riddler's methods should have been explored in detail. He isn't rich like Batman. His poverty should have been emphasized. That would make him interesting. A person who has to overcome their means with smarts against a system that is much bigger but not prepared for what you bring
Basically, Matt Reeves failed. He did his gritty Planet of the Apes stuff and molded it around The Godfather, with a dash of The Long Halloween and Hush graphic novels
A solid attempt, but he failed. This movie is mediocre, whereas The Dark Knight will be immortalized as a classic
