I really enjoyed this film and my only complaint, besides the fact that I don’t think any super hero movie should be three hours, is the movie was missing the humor between Bruce and Alfred that we have had in every big and small screen version of Batman. I really missed that friendly banter.
shareSerkis was a very interesting choice for Alfred. It’s even implied that he (Alfred) taught Bruce all his fighting skills. In which case, it makes sense to have a younger, former badass as Alfred.
Serkis has great screen presence as well as acting chops.
It was certainly a different dynamic, but I think it worked. I enjoyed Serkis' performance.
