Pavlov's Racism

The Left have managed to weaponize criticism against their pet "diversity" agenda. Essentially it's Pavlov's Diversity for the majority of people, especially anytime it's utilized in the media, it prevents anyone from criticizing it lest they be called "racist", hence it's turned into Pavlov's Racism for those on the opposite side of the spectrum.

You can see it in effect everywhere.

1. Diversity stunt-casting.
2. Anyone who criticizes stunt-casting gets called racist.
3. People begrudgingly accept diversity stunt-casting to avoid being called racist.

Every time the diversity bell rings, everyone has to come eat from the Left's bowl of degeneracy, and anyone who doesn't gets called "racist".

We're seeing it in effect now with anyone who attempts to criticizes woefully miscast individuals in roles they don't deserve nor should have been cast in. The Batman is a perfect example of that.

Voice your opinion about not liking Kravitz as Catwoman? You get called a racist.

Maybe you don't like Kravitz as Catwoman but you also don't voice your opinion about it... well, now you're demarcated into the group who is classified as being "okay" with stunt-casting for diversity purposes. The silent majority.

It's not that you like it, but the bell rings, you eat from the bowl, and you avoid conflict.

This isn't just this way with media, though, it's this way with everything. The Left have politicized communication so much that most people avoid being critical of things they should be critical of, lest they get labeled a "Trump supporter", an "anti-vaxxer", or a "racist", some of which can cost you your job, your career, and ultimately your livelihood.

Using this tactic the Left (and the weak-willed, wafer-thin Right) have conveniently managed to round people up and force them to accept Pavlov's Diversity (the consumers), or succumbing to the effects of Pavlov's Racism (the attackers).

Expect a lot of people who don't like Kravitz in The Batman to end up being shut down or shut out of conversations if they criticize her in anyway, especially for a poor performance or not being sexy enough. The lockout tactic for the argument will be that everyone who doesn't like her is "racist".

Consider this post the canary in the coal mine, ahead of the movie's release.

The us vs them mentality you have to love. That mentality wears out it's welcome rather quickly. If you disagree with cyguration even slightly you are a leftist.

Lets go over your points and dismantle them easily.

You have not even seen the film and you have already decided you do not like Kravitz. You also conveniently ignore the fact that Selina Kyle/Catwoman has been portrayed as a black person in the past. Eartha Kitt played her way back in the 1960's and she was black in the Batman Year One comic book. Then you will pivot to well she is typically portrayed as white. Yes but that does not mean the character always has to be portrayed that way. Tons of people do not look like their comic book counterpart and portray a character. Michael Keaton looks nothing like Bruce Wayne/Batman, James McAvoy looks nothing like Charles Xavier. Tom Hardy does not look like Bane. I could go on and on. Is appearance nice? Sure but it is not the end all be all. What matters more is acting and writing. You do not want any of this though because even if Kravitz is good you are going in with a closed mind.

If they cast a white girl your dream you would not criticize her nearly as bad if she turned out to be bad. Where as with Kravitz she is dead to rights. I do not care if you dislike the film for a legit reason but in your case it is obvious you will dislike it for a disingenuous reason.

she was black in the Batman Year One comic book.

Except she wasn't black in that comic as you keep falsely stating, she was half-Cuban.

But leave it to Leftists to keep telling lies in hopes of it one day becoming the truth.

reply

Well either way she was mixed. Also Kravitz is mixed actually she is not even full black. Also she looks like that Catwoman in Year One. So boom she has that appearance. Also I am not a leftist. People can disagree with you and not be a leftist.

Doesn't matter, the most popular Catwoman is still Michelle Pfeiffer's followed by Dana Delaney's portrayal in The Animated Series (which was still kind of based on the Burtonverse Catwoman portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer).

Some esoteric depiction of Catwoman isn't how most people view or like her.

reply

Does not matter. Just because that is what is popular does not mean they need to copy that or try and emulate that every single time. Eartha Kitt portrayed her way back in the day also. Going against the mainstream view can work if you execute it well. Keaton was hated on when he was cast but now is liked by many fans for his portrayal. He looks nothing like the comic book Bruce Wayne.

Also it is up for debate who the most popular Catwoman is. Hathaway is considered a good Catwoman as well.

According to IMDB's Poll, Michelle Pfeiffer was far and away the most popular:

Not to mention she's been the most emulated Catwoman across multimedia, from the costume to her personality (even the highly popular Batman Arkham trilogy Catwoman closely resembles Pfeiffer's portrayal more than the others, with the exception that she has black hair).

That is according to imdb. Also only 2476 votes lol that is a small sample size. Regardless even if that is true that does not mean every version needs to try and emulate that.

reply

lmao notice that he backpedaled to an ad populum fallacy after you overrode his initial argument in a logical fashion.

reply

Yep it's rather pathetic isn't it? He backpedaled to a poll with 2476 votes that's how you know he was desperate. His argument is so poor it makes me cringe. It's wah it doesn't look like Michelle wah. It's like wow do you want the same thing every single interpretation? I mean I get it we all have our preferences but I'm being honest I welcome differences. I don't want to see the same thing every time. Oh and he also can't stand that Kravitz is mixed that's a no no according to people like him.

Ho ho, learned a new word today. Stealing it.

What an awkward and labored attempt to connect Pavlovian responses to your simple point that people are afraid to speak out against something lol

You seem to fundamentally misunderstand what the point of Pavlov's observations were. If we were to go by your metaphor, then it would mean that the dogs weren't really hungry, they just felt forced to eat at the sound of the bell to avoid something negative. That wasn't the point of Pavlov's experiments at all. The point is that the dogs have come to associate the bell with food, so they salivate because they assume that food is coming (which would indicate that they are hungry and DO want the food)

A more apt example of a Pavlovian response would be your feelings of indignation every time you see news of a black actor cast as a "white" character. You don't know the details that went into the casting, but your mind instantly responds by forming assumptions about its role in a leftist plot

I'll give you points for at least trying to be clever, and I'm sure you could argue that classical conditioning DOES play a role in whatever point you're trying to make, but that's not really interesting since classical conditioning plays a role in a huge variety of human behaviors

No, people are hungry for entertainment just like dogs are hungry for food. However, the entertainment is laced with "diversity", so they come to consume the entertainment they're hungry for, but it's not necessarily the entertainment they want.

The point is that the dogs have come to associate the bell with food, so they salivate because they assume that food is coming (which would indicate that they are hungry and DO want the food)

Yes, and people do want to be entertained, just not by the Left's standards. People who bark in protest are basically signalling a dog whistle (Pavlov's Racism) for the opposite side to come out swinging for the fences.

Anyone who protests Pavlov's Diversity by barking is the dog whistle for Pavlov's Racism, hence the two sides of the coin.

reply

You don't get to say what standards people want to be entertained by. I think you are some fat redneck sitting in your mother's basement typing this. Why are you are so triggered by an actress?

reply

Hey I don't like the actress & am black & yea so what?

Batman 2025

Catwoman is transgender, is that progress for Democrat voters?
