What has happened to Helen Hunts face?

I mean, she must be 49, 50 by now and it looks like someone has put their knee on the back of her head, grabbed her ears and pulled with all their might! Is it just me or is this really obvious? I think permanently surprised is an understatement. It is a real shame when this happens to celebrities as I feel that it affects their ability to act to their full ability and makes them unable to properly convey emotion. In a film like this where a roller-coaster of emotion is the key to the films success and more importantly the (positive) reaction of the audience, I think it is not only a waste of money on her part but a waste of talent. Discuss :p

if you forced to intercourse with a disabled skinny man, your face look like that believe me! ...

just kidding :)

but seriously what happened to her face? :))

I thought she looked beautiful. She may have gotten some work done, but I don't find it distracting at all. She still has crow's feet and lines on the sides of her mouth.

Age.......
Still is pretty damn fit though.

This is an awful thread. How mean are we?

Having said that, I think it's probably more of a bad make-up job more than anything else. There's a sort of bronze blush brushed on her cheeks making her look more jaunt that she is. The body is unbelievable.

I think you should get a life and think about what truly matters. Helen Hunt is still a very beautiful and sweet lady. Did some of you NOT get the underlying message of this film?

The message is that people can be loved sincerely despite being afflicted with a disability. That physical appearance is not the only thing that attracts genuine individuals to others. Lasting, loving relationships tend to be attributed to humor, intelligence, compassion, understanding, and sensitivity. Mark O'Brien was deeply loved by all the women in his life because he had all these attributes. It is people like him and the women who loved him that give me hope in Humanity. I think many of you should really re-examine your priorities in life and I hope that you will eventually get the message of films like this that will show you the true meaning of love and understanding.

Very nice thoughts! I think Helen looked fine...even pretty. She has taken care of her body and came across as a terrific actress.

Like some others, I feel funny discussing this---her performance in the movie was amazing.

I thought she looked attractive/pretty in some scenes and odd/too gaunt in others. As someone else pointed out, her lips are very thin and that's what I noticed in some of the scenes.

However, in the last scene (funeral at the church), she looked beautiful. The straight, somewhat hippie-ish hair was very flattering to her, but her face looked a little more filled out and her lips looked subtly fuller. I'm not sure if she had something done in between the other scenes and the time that last scene was filmed. But she looked great.

I was impressed in how she looked in the movie. It is hard to believe that she has a child. Her nude scenes did not show any stretch marks. She looks better than most women half her age.

Hunt's face had natural lines and movement aside from the forehead, where she had botox. The unnatural tautness of the forehead affected her eyes as well and the whole face looked out of kilter. It seemed very bizarre to me that she was showing her body, which seemed a good natural shape whilst altering her face chemically. It was disappointing that she did so and it affected my appreciation of her acting because my attention was drawn to her face and for the wrong reasons.

I'm not trying to break your heart,
I'm just trying hard not to fall apart

It seems incredibly obvious to me that Hunt had a serious face lift. I'm amazed that others can't see this. Her the ends of her eyebrows are noticeable higher & wider than when she was young, and NO ONE has that few wrinkles at her age, even with botox.

I don't blame her, but jeez... Now add to that that she's a little thin, obviously being a workout fiend, and you get that bony, almost scary facial structure.

She DOES look bad. There's no denying it.

No face lift. She looks her age. Knowing she'd be naked, she probably dropped some weight for the role, which accounts for the change in her face. Fantastic body.
