It's a funny film. Lighten up.

It's not a great film. Story is very basic and the ending very predictable and cliched.
But it was a silly comedy and it made me laugh throughout.

Clearly, there were a lot of people offended by this film.
Some people just think they are too good to laugh at this kind of humour.
I know for a fact, some of you are so freaking closed minded, that you actually believe laughing at this kind of comedy makes you a bad person.

Seriously, if you are one of those people who insulted the intelligence of the people who found this funny......*beep* YOU!
Get your head out of your ass, you are not better than us because you didn't laugh at something.
Yes, I can laugh about rape jokes or jokes about pedophilia, do you know why?
Because it's just a joke and nobody gets hurt!
It's harmless.
If it makes you feel uncomfortable, then fine but don't judge the people who do laugh for being more open minded than you.

Critics ended up ripping this film a part, touting it as the worst.

I saw it and I really enjoyed it.

reply

I wasn't offended by it.... I just didn't find it very funny. I'll rephrase that , I just didn't find it funny...at all !
Are we supposed to laugh at the writer's insinuation that the Florida police force is full of retards ? Believe that all college chicks have bodies to die for ?? ( in a country where obesity is at an all time high) . That a child trying to stroke a bee-shaped strap-on behind some trash cans is the best comedy these guys can come up with ? A swaztika in the shape of 4 dicks ? Again , I'm not offended , I'm still trying to locate the humour .
As for the retarded conspiracy loving cousin at the beginning of the movie....I'm stuck for words , I truly am !

reply

I don't find it funny at all.

You seem to be stating that people who didn't find it funny have something wrong with them, surely that makes you a hypocrite?

Maybe it's because the jokes made in this film are ones that pop into my head within milliseconds and are ignored as being unfunny.

reply

No, I understand that humor is subjective.
All I was doing is leaving a positive comment on the board as it seems to consist mainly of hate.
Some people will be put off by the negativity on this board, which is a shame because they may very well enjoy it.

reply

Conversely, some people will be put off by the negativity on this board, and it will have saved them time and effort when they could be watching better films. People have been critiquing for as long as movies have been made!

reply

You COMPLETELY pissed my point lol.
You aren't going to know if you like a film til you watch it.
Even if you don't end up liking it, you have to watch it to be able to form your own opinion.
Advising a total stranger on the net not to watch a film because you didn't like it IS very stupid and closed minded.
Following the advise of a total stranger is even more stupid.

reply

Perhaps we just didn't find it funny.. Nothing to do with being uptight or prudish, it just wasn't funny.

reply

Sure.
You probably need to get laid. ;)

reply

I agree. It's not a cinematic masterpiece, but I laughed my ass off.

You'll like this movie if any and all swear words = ROFL. If you are looking for cleverness, creativity, wit, situational humor, you'll be bored out of your mind and your eyes will not be able to stop rolling.

reply

You are allowed to laugh at humor that isn't intelligent, you know?
No one will care...
Seriously though, I laugh at various kinds of humour whether it is witty n ironic or just silly and fun.
It doesn't matter!

reply

I suppose I can see why a lot didn't enjoy the humour but at the same time if they lighten up a bit they would've had a blast watching it too. True that this isn't ever going to be known as a masterpiece but it had me laughing so much so that at a certain moment I had no breath left to laugh. It was that good!

The whole point of comedy is to have a crack and not be limited to this or that. Just take The Office (US version) as an example, a lot of those jokes would not have been permitted today because the world's become more stricter and in an attempt to not offend anyone but there's always someone who'll feel offended so fúck it.
