Is this supposed to be a satire?

I'd understand if this was supposed to be a vulgar satire of modern society: how sex is placed on a pedestal as your ultimate goal in life, old men lust after young girls given the opportunity, women are sluts who have no pride at all, college guys are meatheads, the concept of breaking off an engagement to be with a homeless girl you met a few days ago....

However, it's just a dumb comedy that tried too hard by throwing in swear words and moronic scenes. It's like the script was written by a 14 year old who imagines that this is what 'cool' adults are like.

So why did you watch this movie? You described pretty much any comedy made in the last several years. Good job being everyone's moral compass. It's really too bad that the message of this film went over your head. You probably had your fingers in your ears trying to keep the bad words out. That's why you missed De Niro's character helping his grandson see that he was about to marry someone for all the wrong reasons. The hilarious, raunchy comedy was merely the vehicle. If that's not good enough for you, maybe look a little deeper into your entertainment choices.

It's not a satire. It's a repudiation of Yuppie culture in favor of Bohemian culture. It's actually a bit refreshing to see something different, even if it's packaged in a vulgar, somewhat mediocre, comedy.

Are you not entertained?!
