I couldn't stop laughing in this film. To me, it's a combination of some of Woody's early film humor, with the sophistication of his later films. If you were expecting the light humor of his last film, you may be disappointed. But if you couldn't wait for the next Woody Allen film to come out in the 1970's, you may just love this one, as I do.

I laughed really hard, I could watch this movie another 10 times it's one of those movies that get me in a great mood.
yeah... funniest since the 90's probably... love paris but that was more subtle and magical...
shareYep, it's actually one of my fave films this year. Everytime Woody comes out we have to go through 'not as good as..' or 'it's better than..' but Woody has been around so long he doesn't have to prove himself anymore and has complete freedom to do what he wants and To Rome With Love proves it. No one storyline, lots of quirky storylines he doesnt have to go into a heavy explaination. Loads of great cute stories, loads of great laughs reminisant of early Woody...and it's better than Midnight in Paris (sorry, couldn't resist!)

shareI completely agree with OP. It was refreshing to laugh during a Woody Allen film again. Loved Woody's lines and scenes. Alec made me laugh too. "Monica. [pause] God, even her name is sexy!" His whole "this has got disaster written all over it" was funny. I HATED Jesse's parting words to Alec though as he puts his shades on, "You sold out." I wanted to slap him. Jerk. But overall, it was a funny, charming, witty and colorful script. And after watching this film, Midnight in Paris and even Vicky Christina Barcelona, I want to go to Europe. I love Woody Allen's cinematographer.

Wonderful, but forgettable. It sounds like a film I've seen. I probably wrote it.
I agree. It's Woody Allen doing Theater of the Absurd.
It has the zaniness of his earlier work w/ the polish of what he's doing now.
And the visual gag of the opera singer in the shower got me laughing every time. Who else would think of that?
I'm going to watch this one again before I take it back to the library.
And for the person who said this is his worst film, I vote for "Interiors" for that.
