Did Woody respond to Arquette documentary?

Ellen Page character, Monica, almost seems like a Hollywood Director rebuttal to Roseanna Arquette's documentary in which famous actresses say things like directors are like the guys in high school who couldn't get dates. Whether or not it was aimed at him it is as if Woody Allen took it personally and said, "Oh yeah? Well here is what you look like to us."and gave us Monica who memorized one line from each poet to snow people. Monica's line that she feels so safe doing nude scenes with her upcoming director is a theme right out of Arquette's doc. Agree? Disagree?

reply

You raise an interesting point but it is highly unlikely that Allen has even seen let alone responding to this forgotten documentary.

reply

A friend just said Roseanna was a Muse of his in the Mighty Aphrodite days.

reply

How so? If I'm not mistaken she's never even been in a Woody Allen film

reply

Dunno who he dates or what documentaries he responds to. People say this stuff and I don't have time or inclination to look it up. Onto the next film.

reply

This was YOUR topic moron!

reply

I though respondents would be interested and thoughful or simply dispute with evidence. Instead it is the usual blather from your kind. Should I call you an ordinary insultting name now and go to sleep giggling over how funny it was?

reply

Ok you clearly have bipoalr or something.

You start by talking about a random documentary querying if Woody Allen is responding to it in some way. Fine but highly unlikely since this documentary by Rosanna Arquette is I think 10 - 14 years old now and was never a widely seen one. You respond to that with "some friend of mine said Arquette was a muse of his once." Again fine. But I've never heard of this and considering she was never in any of the 18 jillion Woody Allen movies in the last 15 years (bit parts or otherwise) i don't think this is likely. Now you're like "*beep* this topic I started I have no time to actually follow up my enquiry with evidence and actually look anything up, My FRIEND said some vague BS about her being a muse so that clearly means she was a muse and Allen wanted to respond to this random documentary that i couldn't even be bothered to cite the name of in my OP."

Searching For Debra Winger by the way is the doc you were talking about. Idiot.

reply

I am blowing you off because you are not contributing anything worthwhile to the topic. A-List actress makes documentary about Hollywood. Major director may have responded. Works for me.

reply

I contributed more then you deserve. You bring up some random thought you had provide no basis for your theory whatsover then make some bizarre attempt at flipping it around on me because I asked one question as to what this muse business was based on. Why SHOULD I contribute when your very query is based on nothing at all?

reply

My theory is based on parts of Monica's dilalogue that sound like they were influenced by Arquette's documentarry. Sort of like Monica knowing one line from every famous poet.

reply

I am not outlining your school paper or indy newspaper article for you. Figure something out for yourself.

reply

Wow. You were this close to being normal and then you ruined it.

and for the fifth time now YOU ASKED THE QUESTION YOU F@#*#NG LUNATIC!

reply

Furthermore you are wrong there is absolutely no connection whatsoever. You made this up based on nothing, you're a psycho. I was trying to be nice before by asking where you were getting this idea that YOU BROUGHT UP but you kept pushing and being a complete f u c tard! I have never wanted to reach into my computer and strangle an Imdb poster more in my life. Get some help!

reply

You will make a terrible lawyer. Judges won't buy it. Juries will think you are abrasive and you have no capability of drawing out a witness.

reply

maybe, but the judge would have you committed for clearly being mentally ill. you are the one at fault here. you make a false assertion and when confronted by it you act like a sulky teenager who has been told the person they like, doesn't like them. -

"so, whatever. i didn't like them anyway. anyway, shut up, stop talking about it. god, you're so immature" (storms off in a huff)

that's you, that is. haha!

mothnm finally makes good, solid post. then ruins it with "the others are scary"ness.

then, chrysalis calls the OP on it and ask for a ref. well said. BUT then goes on to reply to self and re-state the argument, aided by expletives. and how about throwing a dig at people with mental disorders as an appetizer. it only weakens your argument. (ps, you reply to yourself. not a *great* sign.)

chrys: how many times has calling a "lunatic" a "lunatic" actually resulted in something positive?
by the 3rd reply to your own self, you have demonstrated a number of things. if, as you say, you "DONT CARE" and "LET IT GO" i highly doubt you even would re-visit this thread. but you do.

moth: i am not defending you in the least, ms/mr antagonist. you know exactly what you are poking. i am not saying some of your ideas are without merit, but i think you know it is all about the approach.

and to you, you know who i mean, when your writing style and MO remain the same, some of us know it is you.

thank the lords and gods that somebody can see the comedy in this.
and plus ten points to anyone who can quote and knows that "no one can eat fifty eggs"

this was a great thread. Really made me laugh.

reply

Me too!

"This was YOUR topic moron!" Actually LOLing :)

reply

Pretty interesting observation by OP. Anything's possible. Makes me want to see the documentary. Allen has directed many actresses and I would imagine he's come across a few Monica's. Even if he never saw the documentary, if Arquette sounded like Monica, then she and her ilk are the targets of the satire. I did think Ellen Page was miscast. She seems more like a tomboy than a seductress. That's probably a thread somewhere here.

This argument makes the same kind of sense. Check it out.

I don't know everything. Neither do you.
