This movie doesn't deserve 8.5

It was not a worthy sequel to that original movie. It was yet another generic dystopian movie with blurred graphics that makes you think you are stuck in the 80s.

reply

Agreed....it was a terrible movie (but the 'Millenials' seemed to enjoy it.....until their 'New Favourite Movie Of All Time' gets released next month)

reply

So true.

reply

I think its a good movie, but you are so right with the millenials comment.

Hardly anyone under 30 in my theater.

reply

Hardly anyone awake when I saw it at the cinema (on my birthday, of all days?) I counted 3 people snoring

reply

I agree. I feel it's piggy-backing too much on the original and it won't be nearly as remembered years down the road.

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance. A review of the movie here- https://youtu.be/T8kS7nSeCQs

Entitled to your opinion, but it’s not terrible by any means (crafted to near perfection). Furthermore, to claim it is nothing but a homage is BS.

I would bet good money it’s going to be fondly remembered just like the original. And speaking as one of those detested millennials, I can assure gramps over here that this film isn’t leaving my memory anytime soon. Worthy sequel? It’s a worthy film, period.

reply

20 yrs later someone else will call you 'gramps' and will mock your opinion on say, "Blade Runner 2201"

reply

Agreed 100%

Once it hits the shelves I reckon this one will average out at around a 7.5. The original made me feel, everything about it was awe-inspiring, it gave me that warm fuzzy feeling inside. Also, it's not nostalgia talking as I was about 20 when I first saw the original some years ago.

Unlike the original, I'm still trying to work out whether or not I liked 2049.
