What made Blade Runner work was Sean Young's performance. She gave more humanity to the replicants. The other replicants were killers and monsters.

She'd tank this movie hard now though... she's not the young actress she once was. Too many drugs.

I agree, plus I feel that Roy Batty was the more compassionate character

No Vangelis, sure. Maybe even no Syd Mead. But not no Sean Young.
