Edward James Olmos
Should've been in the movie. I think I'd be even more excited if this was a Blade Runner spin off with Edward James Olmos being the main character. Thoughts?

That would've been interesting as I always liked Gaff. I am glad Ford is back though.
shareIn fairness to the OP, this post was made before Edward’s appearance in the sequel was made official.
But yeah, while I do wish he would have gotten more screen time, his scene was fitting and EJO was great with the small amount of time he was given (no trace of Gaff in his performance though it’s still nice to see him in the film).
I liked the film (great melding of sci-fi and artistic design, too) but it was also cool to see both Ford and Olmos from the original BLADE RUNNER. The original scriptwriter of the first film, Hampton Fancher, also did the script for this sequel---pretty cool there.
sharespinoff he plays the vicious boss who's out to get you cause you're a replicant cop and you dont know where you have him. uneasy alliance.
shareEven though he was in the movie, I felt like he wasn't really playing Gaff.
He has a brief cameo and it kinda took me out of the movie since he did not use the same accent-speech pattern as he did in 1982, he just looked like an old Edward James Olmos reciting his lines.
Plus it took away all the mystery about the character. An old geezer in a nursery home...
