Why not Chris Nolan to direct?
Why did they hire some no name director when they could have gotten Chris Nolan? Makes no sense.

As a Nolan fan, I'll still suggest you get off Nolan's d*ck. Villeneuve is perfect for this, and he's making a serious impact in Hollywood.
shareYou're not a Nolan fan.
Nolan, I love you forever!share
Wrong. What I am is not exclusively a Nolan fan, and therefore can appreciate the vision of other directors, and give credit where it's due. Being a Nolan fan doesn't automatically mean I want every movie directed by him. I'm also a fan of Denis Villeneuve, and dozens of other directors.
So I stand by my initial comment.
Every true Nolan fan knows that he would be perfect to direct the sequel. It's just about him not wanting to.
Even Rutger Hauer knows that:
“If Christopher Nolan would be on it I’d say, ‘All right, go for it!'” said Hauer by phone from a hotel room in Amsterdam, where he was filming a Dutch movie about the Heineken family. “But otherwise you can’t do it. ‘Blade Runner’ is such a unique film. How do you describe a diamond? I don’t think you should ever touch it again.”

Believing that a director is not the right choice to direct a movie does not mean that you are not a fan of the director.
Similarly, I could be a fan of a particular baseball player (in my case, Juan Lagares) and still believe that he would be best used in a bench role at this point in his career. He's my favorite player, and yet I don't think he should be starting every day (at least for now). I'm still a fan of that player.
WRONG again. Wow, you're on a roll. 2 for 2.
Logic doesn't state that, because the basis of your argument is wrong. You approach art, which is founded on subjective perception, with binary linear thinking. Just because Villeneuve would be perfect (in my opinion) to direct this movie, doesn't necessarily make Nolan any less perfect.
The only thing it means is that a "Villeneuve Bladerunner" and a "Nolan Bladerunner" would be quite different from one another. Both great, but different.
Who the hell approaches art with this kind of exclusive mindset? Just because you love one, you automatically can't equally appreciate the other? That's so stupid and narrow-minded.
In this case, I prefer Villeneuve to direct this film. I don't think Nolan would approach this film in the way I'd like to see it. I'll just go watch Nolan's own scripts and movies instead, like Dunkirk.
Wanna try 3 for 3?
There is only ONE perfection for each thing in the world. You seems to not understand it, which is quite depressing.

Art is subjective. There is no such thing as perfect in art. You keep making yourself look stupid.
shareIgnore him. I've seen him spread his imbecilic views all across IMDb. I like Christopher Nolan a lot, but his fanbase can be quite irritating.
shareIt was YOU who used the word "perfect" first here, remember?

I also said :
"Just because Villeneuve would be perfect (in my opinion) to direct this movie, doesn't necessarily make Nolan any less perfect."
You're talking about "Perfect" as a fact, and I'm talking about it as an opinion. Big difference. Perfect as fact doesn't exist. And that what you mean when you say there can only be ONE perfect. False. It's not my problem if you can't follow this train of thought.
Here's the bottom line: Nolan's not directing it, and I'm super happy about it. I prefer him making original stuff. Villeneuve is awesome and is just what this movie needs. You disagree? Good for you, but I really don't care.
What a waste of time.
Bye now.
@gstards Even Rupert Hauer knows that:
Rutger Hauer's brother?
Because Nolan is dumb , he wishes to suck Villeneuves dick.
shareIn 2016, I trust Villeneuve a lot more than Nolan.
shareChris Nolan is terrible though?
