Deakins is great, but are we overrating him?

When I see the teaser for Blade Runner, I see color filters and color grading, not so much incredible cinematography...

Am I wrong, or is he a little overrated lately?

I worry about this too Frenchie. I think a lot of the vehicles and buildings will be CG instead of practical like in the original.

Also, the color grading aspect worries me, and I can already see it quite present here.

Deakins is extremely skilled and talented, but he's made some career choices that make me wonder if he has much of an artistic compass or if he simply follows the money and prestige. Vittorio Storaro or Chris Doyle he isn't. But damn, he is amazing with the right material.
