Question about a Blade Runner's jurisdiction

Blade Runners are supposed to hunt down replicants who disobey the ban on being on earth? Correct?

So they are only earth bound law enforcement? Is this right. Any off world replicant activity is not under their jurisdiction?

Also, I can't remember but is the Tyrell Company still functioning or are we to assume that they are no longer in business from the original film?

reply

I believe you're correct. From what I always knew they were just here to take out any back on earth being a potential threat/liability. So I guess if they left before any officers got to them they would be in the clear. Unless other worlds have similar police units doing the same thing.

Great - thanks for the confirmation. Are you aware of the fate of the Tyrell Company? Do you think they'll feature in 2049?

reply

There is no information yet about the fate of the Tyrell Corporation for 2049. May be subsequent trailers or interviews from the cast/film makers will shed some light before the release of the film.

I believe it will certainly be referenced in the film, but as to whether it is still in business thirty years after the original, remains to be seen!
