I fear the soundtrack the most
Blade Runner is one of my alltime favorite science-fictions. I do think the sequel is in good hands when it comes to production design, acting, cinematography and directing particularly. However, I fear the soundtrack. Vangelis' score is timeless and I love it to death. It's such an integral part of Blade Runner. Johan is a good composer, don't get me wrong, but I feel like his scores for Sicario and Arrival could've been better. I think both of them, especially Arrival had some very good tracks and ideas into it, but it was a bit too similar to Sicario at times. Notably the BRAAMMM BRAMMMM. I could've done without that.
I hope Johan's score for BL2049 will have the same 80s sounds as Vangelis' just complete new tracks, it's own thing. Not a rehash or anything like that, but that it feels slightly familiar but also new. Johann has one hell of a job to do!
War, what is it good for?
