Will this be connected to the Alien universe?

Heard rumours that Blade Runner is set in the same universe as the Alien movies. Has this been officially confirmed or just rumours for now. I personally prefer Blade Runner to be its own thing.

Its just a rumor, I personally hope they stay separate. Blade Runner looks and feels totally different anyways. Plus Blade Runner depicts earth in far worse shape than the Alien universe ever implies, plus BR takes place in the first half of the 2000s.

Alien and Blade Runner both were connected in same universe but after Prometheus and Blade Runner 2049 it makes no sense and years makes also no sense

It was Charles De Lauzirika, Ridley Scott's DVD/Blu-ray producer, who has connected the two movie universes together (as a joke) as one of the Easter eggs for Prometheus.
