Prediction *Spoiler, sort of*

In 2049, humans are a minority.

The Blade Runners, including Gosling's character, are all replicants whose job it is to hunt down and "retire" the remaining humans.

So your theory is that Deckard is human with Gosling hunting him down?

reply

Not necessarily. Maybe the Blade Runners (like the rest of us) can’t agree whether Deckard is a replicant or not. It would be a meta nod to the ever ongoing discussion on boards such as this.

K’s job is to establish the truth. He could basically use the VK test again or an upgraded variant thereof.

Deckard may be in hiding because he’s uncertain himself.

This certainly could be said to make the past “simpler then”, vis-à-vis the trailer.

I‘m not saying that this plotline is good, just that it’s plausible.

Deckard is not replicant. First of all, Nexus 6 is newest model, most upgraded and most realistic looking and those who claims that Deckard is replicant, then how could Deckard model that is known over 10 years OLDER VERSION BE MORE REALISTIC THAN NEWEST MODEL NEXUS 6????

And Deckard had bones and blood. No replicant have that!!!!!

No... K job is to hunt down replicant and then Deckard tells he was pro at that and now K says that those things are not that simple anymore. This means that Replicants been upgraded and very hard to know who is human or who is replicant. Because Deckard is proffesional, K asks Deckard help to find the way to know who is replicant or who is not.

reply

I never said Deckard is a replicant, nor is it the point of my thread.

So I’m not going down that old road here.

Although it is rather tempting, I admit… well, you know, because of the obvious flaws and failed logic in your post.

Must…. resist…!

I'm sure others don't, though!

Villeneuve said the heart of the plot of 2049 is hidden in the first film, but apparently there's more in question than the Replicant/human thing.

reply

That would be silly.

The newest model never went into production in the first film. Rachel was it. Deckard was probably a black ops program. All the other replicants had 4 year life spans.

Considering the state of the world we do see...it could be the last replicant alive (Deckard?) is the key to the survival of the human race.

It would fit into the singularity religion of the elite right now and they keep pushing on us.

reply

Silly indeed, but plausible I'm afraid.

I do however think that your theory is quite plausible too, Kaskait. 

More human than human is our motto

why does the replicant have to hunt down humans? It could be that the humans are no longer viable in the new world.

They are a dying breed just like the dinosaurs and the Neanderthals....

And if Rachael was a prototype then Deckard must be human, and the human-replicant interbreeding maybe the only hope for true breeding human, rather than testtube babies: hench Rachael Jr
