tax write off?

i've been trying to understand this movie, now im leaning towards the idea it was a tax right off. Got a tax bill of millions of dollars? why not write them off with a terrible movie and don't pay business taxes at all, just use it to make a movie and subtract any losses as tax write off's...

i mean this movie was meant to be awful, that's the joke. but why is that funny?

hahha i made a terrible movie!!!!!

the pretend play acting

i just guess they were really stoned and said things like" lets get a wolf and put it inside a mall, and we got to save the mall"

which does sound hilarious, but its just this feigning emotion and doing it terribly, on purpose. Like they are trying to trick us, but that's the joke.... why is that funny? Okay, i have loved garth marenghi's darkplace, and that is bad done well. They don't feign and kind of turn to the user and say "looking were joking" they keep the movie going, like they mean their actions, while TEBDM, they consistently are like "hey were joking can you see were joking??"

I do think they wanted to ruffle some feathers, and were like I can more extreme then you to their film star peers, trying to out do each other on screen, but its self aggrandising and pointless, kind of frustrating to watch (although i did like will forte, wish he was in it more, actually he made a bigger than life character, while tim and eric were just stale and unfunny... on purpose? confusing movie, anti structural which is refreshing in some ways)

I tried to view it as art, i did laugh at some things, but it's like its trying to be obnoxious, hey look everybody the worse movie ever... normally well when i have seen something like this in the past , i try to understand the movie... maybe there's something i missed , actually its ground breaking... in a way it is... i haven't really experience something like that before... so some of it has that... wtf value.

They could take it to the next and make it a dark comedy, thinking about it was a black comedy, its like a family PG black comedy, which kind of oppose each other, family movie simplistic story, with the extreme black comedy, an odd mix.

Tim and Eric are comedic geniuses. Geniuses are often misunderstood. I'm not commenting on your intelligence at all, but you just aren't getting what they are doing. This is not comedy that you merely watch solely on a surface level for physical gags and easily digestible punch lines. There are layers of irony and parody going on that many people miss to varying degrees.

They've done everything from directing an award winning Super Bowl ad in 2015 to running a successful production company (Abso Lutely) with several successful and critically acclaimed tv shows to Tim Heidecker's fantastic performance in the dark film "The Comedy" and the praised music videos directed by Eric Wareheim.

Whether or not you like them, you have to admit that they have had a huge influence on modern humor. There are numerous shows using the same sort of humor that they helped bring to television.
