Spike tv version
should I watch it? will it get watered down?

It was fine. If you have no other way of watching it I would go for it.
Also, that channel has no annoying ads that pop up in the corner of the screen. It would be better to watch it on Spike than on AMC or FX.
Obviously watching it un-edited would be the best choice, but you can always rewatch the film again on Bluray/DVD.
