Latino gang's acting

Am I the only one who thought their acting was amateurish? I'm reminded of the gangsters in Training Day who were genuinely terrifying but these are laughable in contrast. I couldn't take them seriously. The said fvck more than goodfellas and it became tiresome after the 500th time.

It was an accurate portrayal.

The gang was terrible. So OTT and unrealistic.

As you say, the gangsters in Training Day were terrifying, especially in the scene inside the apartment when Jake is almost murdered by them.

reply

Yeah they sucked I really liked the film but couldn't help think who would be scarred of these muppets. The gangster school kids from "one eight seven" were more intimidating and they was like 16-17.

That's true their sentences had more curse words in them then any other words.

Yes, those gangsters were ridiculous. The movie was already average to begin with, but they were just annoying. I do admit that they made me laugh at times, though.

You know that they used some real gang members...right. ;)

You know that's probably the exact reason a lot of their acting is so bad. One of the hardest things in acting is to come off natural. It takes a lot of talent, skill, and dedication to achieve it. Just because they lived the life doesn't mean they can automatically portray it realistically in front of a camera.

Every now and again I remember this film and how irritating the gangsters were, they really took the shine off an otherwise decent film.

You obviously don't know much about Hispanic street gangs. This is how they act. They're not gentleman who say things like "How nice to see you on this rather pleasant day."
This is how they really behave: "This puta madre is 'bout to get clapped, ese!" "Wassup, loco?! I'm gonna pump yo bitch ass full of lead, motherfucker!"
