The man that played the Captain is a real cop and the movie is roughly based on his experiences as a street cop in LA.

That's true, spent 15 years in LAPD now a Captain in Colorado.

I kind of thought that scene was something like that. He just didnt sound like an actor. Still a cool scene.

As soon as he was on camera I knew he was an actual cop. Actors can't pull off that cop vibe.

That's hardly unprecedented..There have been many movies in which real cops play cops.
