Wtf

The conversation between Ellie and Luke in the bathroom where she asks if there is someone else? And he says he isnt cheating and she says that isnt what I mean. Then he says I know I am not as glamorous as some but I will always be there for you. And she says I dont know what id do without you.... you know there's a lot I could put up with.

WTF that conversation is so annoyingly ambiguous and made no effing sense. Can someone please explain?

Did she mean she can put up with a lot except cheating? And did she ask him that because Luke knocked over Marty when Marty was starting to talk about a condo etc etc. And what did she mean by "that isnt what I meant" when he said he wasn't cheating.

Ugh, annoying scene. I don't know how I got through this movie. 5 dudes. All with beautiful wives. Maybe one of them is uptight and they should have just gotten divorced but a pact to have a place to actively cheat all the time. This is honestly a guy movie and I can appreciate mystery/thriller "who done it" films but this is so sexist and makes me never want to get married.

And how on earth is Phillip the only one on trial??? It looked like Chris was the one who probably pushed Luke even though he didn't, but realistically speaking the cops might presume that if this werent a movie. They all were in on this plan to hide a murder. Are you effing kidding me? Theyd all be in some sort of trouble. Yet Vincent who was second most guilty to Phillip and Luke just lost his wife and kids thats it? Marty actually gets his wife back?? And Chris and Anna end up together happily ever after.

This movie was awful.

Yet another person crying sexism.

Vincent lost pretty much everything he owned when his wife left him. He cheated a lot and got what he deserved.

Like was a pervert and murderer and killed himself. How in the world could you think Chris pushed him? Did you miss the part where Chris was asking him to stop before he fell over the wall? At least pay attention if you're going to bitch about something.

Phil is on trial. His wife left him. What more do you want?

Chris got a divorce from his horrible wife. He's the only one of the bunch that is even close to relatable cause he's not a complete tool like the others. He's a cheater who got a divorce. Done.

Marty is awful. His wife was also the least attractive of the 5, and she slept with Vincent to get back at him. She should've slept with a ton of guys to get back at that fat, nasty dude.

For what it's worth, I also hated that conversation between Luke and his wife. I too believe that she was saying cheating was something she couldn't handle.

Um----I didn't say he was pushed. I said that's how it probably looked to the cops or could have looked to the cops if this wasn't a movie. Of course I saw him kill himself I am not a dumbass---you completely misunderstood.

reply

Well, Chris did say he called and explained everything to the cops, so I still doubt it would look like Chris killed him. There was no motive for Chris to do so after telling the cops Luke tried to murder Sarah.

Hate plots that involve late-night swimming pools? Also for you.

But it was ok, even if in the end it's pretty hard to like any of the characters, or care about Latin verb-tenses.

"Yet Vincent who was second most guilty to Phillip and Luke..."

Sounds like he was the third most guilty.

At several points in the movie, it was insinuated that Luke was gay. It was mentioned by the detective and by Chris at the end "Did she get in between you and Vincent?" . In the end it is revealed that Luke was not gay and was in love with Sarah and not Vincent. I assume that his wife was getting the same sense that Chris and the detective did that perhaps Luke was gay. I think it that scene she was perhaps trying to say, "You can have gay sex" just come home to me at the end of the night. But since Luke was not gay it didn't make a lot of sense.

Yes, they should have kept Luke as gay and hot for Vincent (as when eyeing him in the pool scene). That would have been a better twist and more believable too. Wentworth Miller, the actor portraying Luke, is gay in real life.
