TWS is essentially a Star Wars rip off
I just read the WS-directors claim WS is based on French Connection, Heat or Blow Out. Sure, the hypocrisy is strong with these ones, conveniently omitting that WS is essentially a rehash of central Star Wars plot points. I'm not talking about the explicit Star Wars reference in WS but key plot points and character motivation, for instance:
- Galactic Republic/Jedi, eh sorry, Shield, is infiltrated by Sith, uh, Hydra because of political intrigue.
- They then suddenly Order 66, eh turn, against the heroes and attack the headquarter. A purge ensues (hardly anyone dies in the MCU version though).
- Mace Windu, eh, Sam Jackson, eh Nick Fury as leader is assassinated (in SW he has the decency to stay dead).
- The main protagonist are attacked but manage to escape the purge.
- Jedi Order/Shield are de facto destroyed, survivors go underground and plan to strike back.
- Anakin Skywalker, eh, Bucky Soldier is brainwashed to become evil by Hydra, uh, Sith.
- He wears some mask as executioner of evil masking his true identity.
- His mentor, eh friend, eh son finds out in a twist-reveal-scene, and after the shock tries to redeem him. They fight endlessly high in the air, lots of explosions.
- Bucky Vader finally turns to the light side again.
What a blatant rip-off sans the outstanding Star Wars imagination, music and art design... trust your feelings, you know it to be true. share
