shareClaudia Cassols is on the show to be eye candy. It seems to be a network TV sitcom rule that schlubby male characters are paired up with women who are way out of their league with respect to looks. In this case, the 16-year age difference is really pushing it to the limit.

The OP has missed the plot on this one. The show seems to be about an anal-retentive anti-social professional, who's been single for too long, who marries a girl way out of his league. She's perfectly cast for that.
