Runt Odie, 4th Brother not shown ?

In both the movie credits and here, Linds Edwards is shown as the character "Runt Odie." I just watched the movie again today and there was not a single mention of a character named Runt.

Could there be the fourth brother Brick spoke of to McQueen ? Did he make an appearance that was cut ? Will there be a director's cut later that gives us more story ?

I felt the movie cut short at the end. Brick was in the TeePee with Celeste gearing up with a shotgun and bandoleer full of shells for another shootout to save McQueen from being scalped. Next thing you know the sheriff shoots the Indian. Something was missing here, as Brick wasn't shown again until the end/after credits.

Great redneck southern action movie, loved it and Brick's shirt ! Sequel ?

The fourth brother was mentioned, but was killed by his father at a young age. He was probably left out due to irrelevance and timing, and so lives only on the cutting room floor.

Sounds like a section fell off your copy. The continuity suffered a bit, but not that much. And no, I doubt very much whether there will be a director's cut. I would imagine it wouldn't have made enough money for such luxuries.

Wasn't really said he was dead. Just Brick asked his dad. With no real answer. Just in the saying he was there one day and gone the next. Maybe as him showiong up in some future movie. Hopefully there will be another at least.
