SUBTITLES
I had to stop watching the movie, it seemed like there weren't enough subtitles to coincide with the action and the dialogue. Any information on this would be helpful.
shareI'm guessing the problem you ran into is the same one I did, that being that the sound timing itself seems to be slightly off. If you pay attention to the background sounds, (say for instance, a door closing) rather than the dialogue, I think you'll find that the sound and the action do not coincide. I'm sure to a person who spoke Farsi it would be immediately apparent, but to those of us who don't, it feels like a problem with the subtitles.
You'll find movies from time to time buggard like this, but usually someone throws up a corrected version not too long after. My best guess is that being a foreign language film, there is just not enough demand out there to have anybody bother to fix it... Oscar winner or not.
