value of the Iranian rial

As of today, 29 November 2012, 300,000 Iranian rial is equivalent to about $24 US. But since sanctions are reported to have caused hyper-inflation in Iran, I was wondering what 300,000 Iranian rial would have converted to back in 2011 whan the movie was made.

No idea, but god... the sanctions are killing us. They effect the people aswell. Poor attempt at stoping the nuclear programe.

back then a dollar was about 10000 rial , now after sanctions it's about 30000 r

There is a mistake in your calculations. The amount is 300,000 Toman not Rial. The unit of money in Iran is officially Rial but almost nobody says it. They write it but they don't say it. Toman is 10 Rials. The origin of the word is Mongolian Temaan meaning ten thousand as in army of Chengiz Khan (Genghis Khan) ten thousand soldiers were one Temaan and the head of it would be Temaan Noyan.
It stayed in Iran since then as ten.
Two years ago when this movie was made, 1.00 USD = 10000 IRR so 3,000,000 IRR was about $300.00

it's not 300,000 rial it's 30,000 & yeah all that is thanks to the sanctions due to Iran's persistence for its natural right ,thank you very much human-right "defenders" !
