I noticed hints of French throughout the conversations. Is it common in Farsi to borrow words from French?

very few French words are used in Farsi like gendarmerie

i think "merci" means the same thing in french and persian

I noticed that word too and wondered if it was a French import into Persian. Otherwise it seems like an odd coincidence.

There are many words imported from russian, french and english to persian like merci from french an many words i can't remember. These words meaning are same as original language but in a different pronounciation some times

Pardon when they answerthe phone. There were other words I have heard in other languages. It is obviously an Indo European language.
