That was a very disturbing scene watching her play with the grandfather's oxygen tank. What if she accidentally killed him. Her mom should have been watching her better.

The scene was depicting how the next generation can easily destroyer the past generations.

Fun theory, but it could be an over-interpretation. I think the child playing with the oxygen tank caused the loss of the grandfather's ability to speak, further extending the theme of shared guilt.

I agree. I know she was young and her mum was feeling harassed but that could easily have gone wrong!

Not sure how intentional it is, but there is some pitch-dark humour in this movie.
