Jess and Robbie are a couple i could get behind

any of her other boyfriends were either bad straight away or went bad pretty quickly.

but robbie has been a character on the show for a while now and i thought they clicked pretty well

and anything to keep jess and Nick apart who are a terrible couple

Feels too much like Paul Genzlinger 2.0 (Justin Long if anybody remembers). I like Robbie a lot but not feeling Jess/Robbie. They don't know how to write Jess as single, I guess? Seems a bit lazy.

I would have liked to see her bump into John Cho again if they were going to pair Jess off with anyone. (His character's name was Daniel, I think? That lawyer guy she met during jury duty.) That really didn't go anywhere, did it? What a waste of John Cho.

After Selfie got cancelled, I was really excited when John Cho showed up in New Girl. They really should bring him back.

Jess and Robbie are kinda cute though too. Their personalities go together pretty well.

But... I can't help but think it would be weird if Jess and Nick don't end up together at this point.

Aw, man, I loved "Selfie"! Great show that suffered from a less-than-stellar name. I loved John Cho on there, but I'll always remember him as "Teddy" from that old FOX show "Kitchen Confidential." Too bad TV shows where he plays the lead seem to get cancelled a lot. :( I'm not sure why. He's an underrated comedic actor.

They are definitely setting up Nick/Jess, but not sure how long they are going to stretch it out for if the show gets another season. They seem to hate writing Nick/Jess as a couple so I expect them not to get them together until the series finale.

I've adored him forever and was really into the show Flash Forward. Still sad it got cancelled. John deserves more!

reply

I felt they clicked very well<3 totally shipping them!

reply

Loved them. Jess & Nick is just so stale at this point.

reply

I CAME HERE JUST TO SAY THIS! I freaking love the idea of them together! Robbie is adorable, and I'm glad they keep bringing him back and would not mind seeing him become a regular.

I SHIP IT. MAKE IT HAPPEN.

reply

Not feeling it. It seemed uncomfortable and forced to me. I wish they could write Jess single for a while.

reply

I'm not into the Robbie/Jess thing personally. I still see Nick & Jess together even though, yes, the build up is becoming stale at this point. For goodness sakes, if Schmidt & Cece can make it, then why not them?

-Who is it?
-It's Grandpa. And it sounds like he's gotten into the horseradish again.

I feel the same way. The way Nick and Jess are written is weird. It's like the writers want them to be a couple at the same time that they don't. They just put them together any time they run out of story ideas now. Doesn't feel that organic at all.

I still really like them together, but I want the writers to either put them together or break them up for good. None of this wishy-washy *beep* It's dumb to keep yanking the audience around where they push them forward one episode and then don't mention them again until the end of the season to create a cliffhanger.

reply

They are ADORABLE. I like how this setup is completely different than her previous love interests.

reply

LOVE these two together. They were so cute singing Africa together. And they both wear big black dorky glasses.

I'm not a fan of Nick and Jess at all. I honestly don't see much chemistry between them.

reply

This is interesting to me. I think the way Nick and Jess are written now gets in the way of any natural chemistry they may have so I get why people don't want them to get together from where they are now. I'm just curious...do you think that Nick and Reagan have chemistry? In my opinion, they are really the couple with no chemistry.

Not really feeling Jess/Robby. I didn't like Jess with Paul Genzlinger either so maybe that's why...too much of the same vibe from Robby this time around.

reply

No, Nick and Reagan don't have any chemistry either. I haven't seen any decent pairings with Nick.

reply

LOL, poor Nick...guess Nick is the one that ends up alone eating birdseed out of the bag on his front porch. :p

I've pretty much liked all of Nick's girlfriends except Reagan. The writers really bungled Nick/Jess when they got them together in S3. Not sure why they have so much trouble writing them as a couple when they write Cece/Schmidt perfectly fine, even after Schmidt's cheating storyline in S3, and they're doing a great job with Aly/Winston.

I would be okay with an ambiguous ending with Nick/Jess. That's kind of like the writers splitting the difference between fans of Nick/Jess actually getting together and those who hate their pairing and don't want to see them as a couple on the show.

reply

I agree with you 100%. Nick and Jess just don't work IMO. Robbie is a much better fit.
