So Jess's only self worth is a boyfriend?

Has it always been like this on the show? I don't remember every episode always being about if Jess has a boyfriend, and when she doesn't she's depressed and lonely and miserable, but when she does she can't stand him and he's not exactly to her specifications. She used to have a job, did things outside having a boyfriend, but ever since the season where Nick and her dated, that's all there is anymore.

What I'm saying is I wish the show was about Winston.

I'd watch a show about Winston. I imagine it would be like a less cynical version of Seinfeld. Winston frequently carries the show week to week. I'm interested to see where Lamorne Morris goes after NG ends. It would be cool to see him land another TV series.

Yeah...the evolution of Jess hasn't been great. They didn't want Nick and Jess together but they also didn't quite know what to do with them apart either. Nick got the better deal with being co-owner of the bar and his book at least. Jess doesn't have anything else other than her current flavor-of-the-month.

One of the upcoming episodes, "James Wonder" is supposed to involve Jess's new school but it might be a filler ep since it was pre-empted for the World Series and election coverage and they changed the episode order. It's supposed to involve the guy who leads the PTA or something like that. I hope it's not another Jess dating failure storyline.

This episode was such a waste of time. Why are they still mentioning Regan, get rid of the character let's move on. Robby is another one, we're seeing way too much of him. Winston is the only reason why I'm tuning in at this point.

I agree only due to the fact Reagan hasn't even appeared on screen this season or even heard her voice(nick was talking to her on the phone).

I didn't think there would be anything worse than seeing Nick/Reagan together but seeing Nick have a relationship with his phone is definitely worse. Reagan needs to come back already since the writers are clearly waiting for her to move the narrative forward.

Winston is definitely underutilized and he never even talks about his cat anymore! I'm getting the feeling Jake Johnson doesn't even want to be on the show for very much longer, which is why they're setting up this giving the bar to Cece, him maybe moving with Reagan, so not sure how much longer the series can go on for, but I could be wrong.

That James Wonder episode sounds like when Jess met the British teacher! They're just doing the same crap again! 😡

Anything that's preventing her from getting back together with Nick, is fine by me.

Agree I do not like Nick and Jess together. I find nothing appealing about Nick and it was clear the first time around that they wouldn't work well together in the long run.

Nick and Jess made more sense as the characters they were earlier in the series, not so much now. I'm still on Jess's side in the breakup though. Being a "box guy" is going to be a dealbreaker in a relationship. Who wants to be in a relationship with a guy who doesn't pay taxes or do jury duty, a guy who can't grow up and deal with real-life adult things? That was a weird spin to give a character that went to law school and passed the bar though.

I do agree that it feels like they would break up eventually and not make it in the long run. I still don't see how this time is different and they won't break up. Nick might have grown up, but Jess doesn't seem to have grown nearly as much. The writers need to do more to convince the audience why Nick and Jess belong together from where they are now.

They talked about Furguson a lot in "Jaipur Aviv" but I don't remember the last time we've seen him. It looks like he will actually make an appearance in the Christmas ep though.

Both Jake and Zooey seem a little checked out of the show. I don't blame them since the writers aren't giving them the best material to work with. Both Max and Lamorne have been really good this season though. They haven't given Cece much material in S6 either, but that's par for the course. I think she does the best she can with what they give her.

Yes, I hope "James Wonder" plays better than the synopsis reads currently. We don't need another flavor-of-the-month that doesn't go anywhere. Jess needs an intervention to get her life together. Where's Tran when you need him?
