Justice League may Dread it, Run from it, but Disney still arrives

Black Panther will indeed make more in it's Domestic run ($654 currently) than JL made in it's entire WW box office ($657). But wait there's more. Here is the potential stunner and the final ignoble act of a poorly received movie like JL.

JL's world wide run might very well be only 1/2 of BP's WW run. BP might very well double the entire WW Box office of JL. Double! Double!! For every $1 that JL grossed Black Panther might eventually gross $2.

$1,314,000,000 with BP currently at $1,280,926,026 and needing only $33 Million to achieve that amount. That is just a stunning result in comparing the fate of the two. That also highlights the differences in the two studio's crown jewels: The Avengers and Justice league.

All three of Marvel's Avengers movies will have made more than double what JL made world wide! It is very possible that the untitled fourth Avengers film will also be double Justice League. That is just remarkable success for Marvel/Disney and abject mediocrity or incompetence for Warner/DC.

Marvel is quite openly becoming the dominate CB studio between the two companies in the eyes of the audience. How does Warner/DC regain that audience or any audience when Marvel continues to keep producing content? Plus Marvel remains prolific and is solidifying it's hold on the collective mindshare for IP.

Will BP really double JL's WW box office??

fixed for you...

reply

Very clever.

Nice touch.

Changed the title in your honor!

And Disney arrived, twice. Like a two wave Tsunami it whipped all the crap these DCEU Justice League left behind, after his quick and awful appearance.

Let's revisit some numbers:

BP ($694) made 3 X the domestic box office of Justice League ($230). BP sold triple the number of tickets of JL within the USA???? World Wide BP doubled the ticket sales of JL because of the strong USA totals. JL was in theaters 119 days and BP has only been in theaters 87 days to reach those multipliers. Is BP more well loved than DC's Holy Trinity or better received?

BP was a great story with a well crafted villain.

AIW might not triple JL's domestic numbers but it already has doubled the international totals and might very well triple those reflecting just how far off Warner/DC is in creating a product that audiences will flock to see. AIW will get another $225 internationally to punctuate their performance over JL.

Justice League left a lot of money on the table that Avengers is all to happy to scoop up.

Lol at the NorridRad manchild. I do not even want to know what you compensate in your life by constantly satisfying yourself with box office numbers of a kiddy-orientated franchise and by bullying other beefcakes-in-tights franchises.

reply

"box office numbers of a kiddy-orientated franchise" welcome to the internet. This is a forum/chat where people talk, among other things, about the box office numbers - because that's one of the rare things that can't be subjectively interpreted. As for the kiddy-oriented franchise, these movies are based on comics and most importantly this franchise is the biggest movie franchise in the last few years, one that's constantly growing and earning more and more money. Perhaps some will call it kiddy but name another franchise that managed to accomplish what Marvel did.

reply

three demerits for reading comprehension. I laughed at the sorry phenomenon of the proverbial online manchild self-aggrandizing themselves and bullying like emotionally-disturbed 8 year olds about alleged "accomplishments" that have nothing to do with them.

It's a form of bandwagon compensation mechanism for the lack of life and self-achievements. It's as pathetic as it's stupid.

I like some B-movie franchises too, like Star WARS, but never in my life did I consider spending years on the internet bullying Star TREK and it's fans and self-glorifying myself because SW is the more (and most) successful franchise ever. It would be as pathetic as it would be stupid. Try again.

Oh I'm sorry, reading your other posts I just realized I was talking to a DC fanboy/fangirl. Please accept my condolences.

Thank you for the notoriety!! I am always pleased to make someone laugh for whatever the reason.

It was a anguished laugh for the reasons named, but thank you.

Anguished: experiencing or expressing severe mental or physical pain or suffering.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, how could a post dealing with a Kiddy-orientated franchise, your phrase not mine, illicit such a deep emotional reaction that would require you to respond? Methinks the power of mere words has touched you very deeply but something else is going on in that noggin of yours.

This Black Panther forum and the movie brings out many things in many people.

reply

Of course he is "xperiencing or expressing severe mental or physical pain or suffering". After all he is a DC fanboy. Excuse me, he is a butthurt DC fanboy. Mental and physical pain are they karma. He likes to call MCU people manchildren, while we like to cal DC fans delusional butthurt... We all seem to be OK with those terms.

reply

lol at the butt sore drama queen. Straw man fallacy much? Am I talking to a sock Can any of us proof it?

I admit having the Nolan Batman trilogy on BR, I also liked Logan and WW last year. Nobody is perfect.

And the butthurt continues...

and my "lol" becomes increasingly more anguished to the point of annoyance at your deflections.

The questions was what are online nerds like you compensating for by posting countless self-aggrandizing threads basically saying "look my franchise makes so much more money than yours". Translated into non-kiddy-orientated MCU language I guess it's "Hahahaha, I have famously huge turds".

I know "little boys and their toys" but I would assume that you are beyond the intelligence age of an 8-year old, but not the EQ-age it seems...? So, seriously, what are you compensating NorrinRad?

Clearly you must be having a hard time staying focused or concentrating on more than one thing at a time. When did you ask me a question about anything? You didn't even ask a rhetorical question either so how is it that I am deflecting?

If the above is your question(s) that you would have initially posited to me I normally wouldn't have responded with anything more than a humorous retort because I would have taken it or them as really non-serious. But you asked sooooooooooooo…...

reply

Since I don't know what your definition of "On-Line nerds" is I can't respond to that type of labeling and I will be unable to respond in the language and context that you might be expecting. Again I would be assuming, but without anguish mind you; that you speak, understand, read and prefer On-Line Nerd-ese?

As to this compensating? You'll have to be a tad more specific because I don't know what I would, could, or should be compensating for in order to answer your question. I know neither the norms nor the deviations. I need some parameters to figure out what it is that you are labeling and accusing me with or what you are defining me as. Of the three definitions for compensating I'm not sure which one you even mean?:

1. give (someone) something, typically money, in recognition of loss, suffering, or injury incurred; recompense.
"payments were made to farmers to compensate them for cuts in subsidies"
synonyms: recompense · repay · pay back · reimburse · remunerate · recoup ·
pay (someone) for work performed.
"he will be richly compensated for his efforts"
2. (compensate for)
make up for (something unwelcome or unpleasant) by exerting an opposite force or effect.
"officials have boosted levies to compensate for huge deficits"
act to neutralize or correct (a deficiency or abnormality in a physical property or effect).
"the output voltage rises, compensating for the original fall"
synonyms: balance · balance out · counterbalance · counteract ·
3. mechanics
provide (a pendulum) with extra or less weight to neutralize the effects of temperature, etc.
Now you did say you were Anguished and I compensated you with thanks and you accepted. I consider that you have been adequately recompensed for your anguished laughter. You are entitled to nothing else.

Do you know what Self-Aggrandizing means? How am I making myself seem important or powerful by comparing (and sharing) a set of financial data points about three movies? Did I even suggest how the resulting financial comparison made me feel? Is the data wrong? Was it a poorly constructed comparison?

Do you just personally dislike seeing and or reading my posts? Did I insult your Dad or your dog? Is your Mom's name Martha, Warner, DC or JL? Is JL code for Julie? Am I putting someone else down in order to make myself seem "larger-than-life" superior to them? Nope! I did none of those.

Not being a card carrying member of the On-Line Nerd League Society but...

Meanwhile at the Hall of Justice..... ………………………...Crickets...……………..

I digressed there for a moment.

I was truly interested in the relative Box office performance of BP and wanted to know how Warner/DC would regain the audience's trust based on what appears to be fans not showing up to consume their product offerings.

Why do you measure turd sizes? What happens if you have diarrhea? Do you resort to weighing it for scientific comparisons and other purposes? Turd sizing is a very different type of behavior. Do you keep track in a spreadsheet? Does color matter? Is that what On-Line Nerds do?

Regardless of my biological and/or chronological age I was once an 8 year old and can tap into what it was like being an 8 year old. Not sure what your assumptions actually mean or what you're going for by bringing it up. Are you embarrassed by your own age or how old you appear to be when you act out and post questions of this type to a poster on this forum?

My posts, I can't speak for anyone else, are pretty much on topics that interest me.

So in summary: BP's final WW box office might very well be double what JL grossed WW during it's entire run. That is a remarkable amount of money for BP and still speaks to the unpopularity of Warner/DC and their product Justice League. Did I miss anything TristanReloaded?

I did buy some BP merchandise for my Niece (girl of course) and Nephew (boy and all little man). He's got a birthday coming up soon and he'll be 5 years old, not quite 8 so he's not ready to have a conversation with you yet.
