Why is this brilliant show cancelled when total sh*t like Geordie Shore, Honey Boo boo and The Kardashians is still allowed to continue?
shareI'm realizing Nielsen ratings aren't the only factors. Those other shows generate a lot of internet buzz and free advertising from celebrity-watching websites and news outlets, and from not just the tacky fans but people who claim to hate them. If something is popular, even with negative publicity, it stays on TV. Those shows are on cable anyway where higher ratings aren't expected.
