I agree. He was still alive when I read the book. When I saw at the end that he died is 2014 I was sad. What an unbelievable spirit he was!

While watching UNBROKEN I thought it was very well-made but not as involving as I hoped. That was until the ending captions came up that told of how Louie lived such a full life later. For some reason, it just made me cry and appreciate the subtle strength of this movie that I didn't think was so involving.

I find it quite amazing that he was able to live such a long life after surviving the beatings and deprivations.
