Punches.

How can anyone survive approximately 200 punches to the face? Also, his face was not even scarred . That seemed unrealistic.

Would an "R" rating of this movie sufficed?

reply

I agree. I guess the soldiers held back a little while still making it seem like they were punching hard. Still even then.....most guys wouldn't be able to take all that abuse. :X

We said the same thing. Wouldn't he have suffered some sort of brain damage or lose his eyesight or teeth?

I didn't read the book so perhaps some of this movie is embellished?

I haven't seen the movie yet but I just finished the book and Louie really was hit over 200 times at full force. Any soldiers who tried to pull their punches were forced to repeat until they did it hard enough. I'm surprised Louie had no permanent damage but his eyes were swollen shut after the incident.

That punch scene was laughably bad. Apart from how could he survived being punched 200 to 300 times that hard, which means he would in reality got tapped lightly.

The way the scene was presented with all the men queuing up, it looked like a gangbang scene from a bad porno!

It's that man again!!

reply

It must have been embellished in both book/movie ... an entire camp punching him and even trying to hold back his head should have been the size of a watermelon and his eyes swollen shut for half a month... if not completely destroyed

Maybe the residents of his barracks had to do this but 200 or more men: he should have come back from the war looking like Rocky Dennis

reply

It's made up i don't care what anyone says, he would have no teeth, be blind, his jaw and nose would be completely *beep* and he would have facial scarring along with brain damage.

reply

yeah, but I suggested same thing after the fights in ROCKY movies..
