Did not do justice to one of my favorite books of all time

It is beyond me how this movie ended up being so boring given the incredible source material. This movie was an absolute disservice to the book and to Zamperini.

I couldn't Agree more. It lacks any emotional response. It's completely numb.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried.

That's your opinion

I found it light on emotion, too..

Although I did react maybe emotionally but maybe more physically to beatings and blows struck by the psycho "Bird" ...I winced each time.

i just finished reading the book, i thought it was amazing, and was planning on watching the movie. bad idea?

reply

I wish i didnt see it

bad idea?
No, well worth a watch.🐭

@SkippyJustice I haven't read the book - can you give a few examples of what the movie should've done?

reply

I have to disagree with the OP. I watched the movie first and it had a profound effect on me. I read the book after which elicited the same response. I thought the movie was extremely well-done and did justice to both the book and Louis.

It's so dull. I blame both Angelina Jolie and also the poor casting/script. This could have been an incredible story.
