The 'Awkward Moment' Was the Entire Movie...

Oh wow. I don't even know what this crap was! Caught somewhere between a Rom-Com and some sort of drama or dark romance... I don't even know.

All I have to say is THANK GOODNESS FOR MILES TELLER! Holy crap he was the only thing in this entire movie to get a smile or chuckle out of me!!

Where do I begin- Well, I am UTTERLY shocked to see that the character Mikey is played by the actor from Fruitvale Station. Wow. What a devastating set back. This truly saddens me. He must've just been given an absolutely terrible character because he was my LEAST favorite part of the movie and I just kept thinking "who IS this guy and WHY did they cast him?!" Everything he said fell flat. He came off as more of a baby and a whiney little girl than any girl that I've ever met. He wore tight sweaters and pouted around all day... No wonder his wife cheated on him. He was spineless and annoying. Cringed every time he delivered a line.

Once again, I'm not sure if Zac Efron was just given terrible lines and a bad character but every "joke" he told fell flat and made me cringe. Yuck.

Basically this movie just tried way too hard. The scene when they're making fun of Mikey's orange dick- some of the worst forced acting I've ever seen, completely unfunny. Zac's character and his love interest- TERRIBLE! They kept having him deliver some absolutely terrible line and having the blonde girl pretend like he's hysterical and start bursting out with laughter. "I was gonna make you wait too but then I realized.. I'm a guy." Oh, yeah. Hilarious. Especially because it's already been shown endlessly in the trailers. Miles' character getting hit by the car? Pointless, cringe-worthy "comedy". And am I the only one who had to physically refrain from rolling my eyes when Zac's girl came in to the apartment and she does the totally cliche "Oh, can I play? I love video games!" and then the friends and Zac think "Wow! She can hold a controller! She is PERFECT!" HAHAHA! Oh wow. I definitely had to try not to laugh at the end when Zac Efron is tearing up while reading his fake story to the blonde.

The whole movie was painful for myself, my friends, and the 5 other viewers in our theater to watch. It tried WAY too hard and WASN'T funny. We all kept asking "wait, when is this going to be over?" because we were having a really hard time trying to decide what the plot of the whole movie was. What was even the point of Mikey and his ex-fiance? He was a total loser to go back to her so easy and act like they could pick right back up where they left off.

They advertised this as a fun movie, or a romantic comedy, and some trailers even made it appear to be a guys-night-out movie. It was none of the above. It really didn't need to be rated R because the language wasn't necessary and even came off as forced, as most things did, and there was only like one or two unfunny scenes with nudity and sex that the movie could've done without. This may have sold if they could've brought in a bunch of teen girls wanting to see Zac Efron with his shirt off but with an R rating? No way.

I can't help but feel that there HAS to be a ton of stuff on the cutting room floor. The movie just DIDN'T make sense and I can't believe that these three lead guys- pretty big or rising stars- agreed to do this garbage. Yuck. I want my money back.
