another Disney actor breaks away but this time it's good

well, zac definetly has shed his disney roots and turned around like selena gomez or miley cyrus, but unlike them he actually made a good movie after he left.

No movie miley cyrus made after she left disney(like "so undercover" or "LOL") was good, and while I did like all the Girls gone wild ;) on Selena Gomez's and Vanessa Hudgens in Spring breakers, the story was horrible and I wanted my money back after I left the theater.

This movie cracked me up, I didn't even know Zack Efron was so funny and I can't wait to see that next movie he made called "Neighbors" with Seth Rogen.

It seems as though zac efron symbol as a sex symbol is more than ever since it is anazing how he transferred from a geek to a handsome young man.

Geek? He played the jock in the high school musical films.

But yeah he has transitioned well as a person, just he really hasn't had a huge successful movie since HSM and Hairspray.

Efron broke away from his Disney association a long time ago, but most people weren't paying attention. He actually filmed Me & Orson Welles and 17 Again before he made HSM 3. His character committed a burglary and a homicide in At Any Price, and The Paperboy was full of non-Disney stuff from beginning to end (like being urinated on by Nicole Kidman).

I happen to own all those movies and zac has shown that he is a pretty decent actor.

As others have stated, Zac Efron moved away from Disney a long time ago, just as High School Musical was wrapping up.
He has done mostly indies, and they should serve him well in his career. Working with Richard Linklater and Lee Daniels are great moves, and then all the dark character indies (like At Any Price) show that he wants to act in serious stuff, and can.

I was glad he returned to Hollywood for this, because I had forgotten (or maybe I never knew) how good of a comedic actor he is. I thought he was very funny in this.
